I am a qualified counsellor having completed a degree in Integrative Humanistic counselling combining approaches such as Person Centred, Gestalt and Existential.

I also incorporate elements of CBT within my approach should I feel this would benefit you. Information regarding these approaches can be found here. The main goal of this approach is to find out how a person perceives themselves here and now and to recognise growth, self-direction and responsibilities. This method is optimistic and attempts to help individuals recognise their strengths by offering a non-judgemental, understanding experience.

In order to increase my knowledge and understanding I regularly attend Continual Professional Development workshops and lectures. The following are just a few I have attended:

  • Working with Dissociative Identity Disorder (C Sanderson)
  • Understanding Complex and Severe Trauma in Adults (Dr S Majid)
  • Issues of Attachment (Sir R Bowlby)
  • Working with Traumatic Bonding and Boundaries (C Sanderson)
  • Safeguarding Children and Young People
  • Training in Substance misuse

I am a member of The National Counselling Society and abide by their code of Ethics. I am also listed in the Counselling Directory for professional counsellors.
